thought setup was one-time, turns out recurring was too much
I expected setup to be mostly one-off, just like most software I use. Signing up and paying the invoice was simple enough, straightforward stuff. But then I found out that a lot of the processes they mention as ongoing are actually mandatory and quite regular. Like the telephonic support, it isn't just for emergencies, you need to keep engaging otherwise your workflow might break. Same with database updates and automatic software updates, they're not optional. I thought automatic updates would help by themselves but sometimes they change things and you gotta adjust immediately. Billing also wasn't as simple as monthly charges, there are extra fees for access to certain features. Honestly it felt kind of misleading because I assumed more of it would be initial only, not ongoing tasks and payments. At the very least, the invoicing process itself stayed consistent and clear, so that part was fine. Overall, I'd say I misunderstood the ongoing requirements and that was frustrating.
