Setup expectations vs reality: initial versus ongoing work

I was expecting that setting up the software would be mostly a one-time task, with occasional small updates and routine invoicing. Initially, the sign-up and payment process was straightforward and fairly quick, which met my expectations. However, I found that some parts of the ongoing usage required more frequent attention, especially when it came to adjusting the database for my workflow or handling changes in the calling tools. The automatic updates helped keep things current, but sometimes introduced features that meant I had to re-learn certain processes or reach out to support more often than I had planned. This shifted some of the workload from a simple setup to an ongoing activity, which was a bit unexpected. The telephonic support was helpful in those times but meant extra steps that I didn’t foresee when I first registered. I appreciated the clear invoicing that reflected time and resources used rather than a flat fee, which helped me track ongoing costs. So, while I was ready for a mostly one-off setup, I quickly realized that using this software involves continuous adjustments and learning that require time and attention beyond the initial setup.
